Close Investments appoints Deryck Noble-Nesbitt as Manager of Smaller Companies Portfolios

CLOSE INVESTMENTS APPOINTS DERYCK NOBLE-NESBITT AS MANAGER OF SMALLER COMPANIES PORTFOLIOS
 
Close Investments is pleased to announce the appointment of the smaller companies team of its associated company Close Private Asset Management Limited headed by Deryck Noble-Nesbitt as investment manager of their smaller companies funds. 
 
Deryck has 7 years experience in managing private client and institutional smaller companies and AIM mandates.
 
In addition Stephen Wood, a smaller companies specialist at Close Investments is also part of the new Close smaller companies team. Stephen joined Close in 2007 and has been assisting with the management of CITS portfolios and smaller companies investments for this time.
 
Joining this team in September will be Sam Barton. Sam joins from Unicorn Asset Management where he managed smaller company funds for more than 6 years.
 
The new smaller companies team will have the depth and breadth of experience to manage Close Investments existing funds and identify new smaller companies and AIM opportunities. They will be responsible for managing around £100million assets under management, including the successful CITS (Close Inheritance Tax Service), the Close Special Situations Fund, Close Beacon Investment Fund and specialist AIM and smaller companies mandates for private clients and institutions.

Deryck Noble-Nesbitt joined Close in March 2005.  He graduated from Cambridge University in 1994 and is a Chartered Accountant, having spent over six years working at Deloitte & Touche in London and New York.  He has been a UK Equity Analyst since joining Govett Investments in February 2001 and is a CFA charterholder.
 
Sam Barton joins Close in September. He has worked for Unicorn for nearly 6 years, the last 3 of which he has been directly involved in a range of smaller company funds, VCTs and tax mitigation portfolios.
 
Stephen Wood joined Close in January 2007 with a technical background, having previously studied Electronic and Electrical Engineering at UCL culminating in a Masters of Engineering in 2006 the key focus of which was in optical telecommunications.
